Family
The Family Program children come from broken families where the mom is homeless and needs shelter and support. To avoid the trauma of separation from the mother, Saint Basil Academy provides food and shelter to the children while helping the Orthodox mothers become self-sufficient, educated and well-rounded Orthodox parents.
Mission:
- To provide a safe and loving family environment that empowers families and young adults to help one another to enable all parties to be psychologically, spiritually, occupationally and financially sound.
Vision:
- The Family Program provides a unique opportunity to live in a family setting where the community of adults and young adults work symbiotically to provide a stable family and supportive environment to one another. The Family Program aims to improve, preserve and strengthen a healthy family in a nurturing, loving, Orthodox environment with dignity, respect and hope. Saint Basil Academy provides to the parents educational opportunities and career counseling, parent support workshops, and psychological support to empower the heads of family to become independent adults with the eventual goal of graduating from the Family program.
